Adjoa Barbara J. Baker
Commissioner Adjoa Barbara J. Baker, a native of Chicago, attended Chicago State University where she earned her B.S. in Elementary Education and functioned as Student Affairs Advisor Chairperson. After raising 3 children she returned to school and earned her Masters of Science degree in Urban Education from Cambridge College, where she was selected as the student commencement speaker.
Before recently retiring from teaching, Baker received numerous awards, ranging from Fulbright Study Abroad to Golden Teacher Nominee Awards. She presently serves as the co-chair of the Chicago Chapter of the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America (N'COBRA).
