Anderson Thompson, Ph. D.

Dr. Anderson Thompson

Dr. Anderson Thompson was born and raised in the City of Chicago. He attended Frances E. Willard Elementary School and DuSable High School and later returned to teach at both of these schools. He also attended Wilson Junior College, received his B.Ed. at Chicago Teachers College, his M. Ed. from Loyola University, was a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Chicago, and received his Ph.D. from Union Graduate School. He was acting Principal at Forrestville High School from 1963 – 1967 and is presently teaching at Northeastern Illinois University's Center for Inner City Studies where he has been on staff since 1966.

Dr. Thompson is the President of the Association of African Historians (“AAH”), a member of the International Board of the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations (“ASCAC”), and a member of the Kemetic Institute. Through these organizations and others Dr. Thompson has lectured extensively throughout the world on African history and culture. He has published several articles and essays over the years. The most recent, The Preliminary Challenge, is included in the African World History Project. He is presently working on several historical surveys to be published in the very near future.
